Public Policy Overview

Our Program Policies

At Genesis Steps to Success, our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, organized, and positive learning environment where every child can learn, grow, and achieve. Our policies help protect children, support families, guide staff, and create consistency throughout the program.

This page provides a general overview of our main program policies. A full Parent Handbook with complete details is provided to enrolled families through the parent portal or during the enrollment process.

Attendance Policy Overview

Consistent attendance helps children build routines, develop confidence, and participate fully in daily learning activities.

Parents and guardians are expected to:

  • Bring children at their scheduled drop-off time
  • Pick children up at their scheduled pick-up time
  • Notify the program if a child will be absent, late, or leaving early
  • Keep attendance and contact information up to date

Daily attendance is recorded for safety, communication, and program organization.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policy Overview

The safety of every child is our top priority. Children must be signed in and signed out each day by a parent, guardian, or authorized adult.

Children will only be released to individuals listed on the child's authorized pickup list. A valid photo ID may be required before a child is released.

Parents and guardians are responsible for keeping pickup authorization information current. Any changes must be communicated to the program in writing or through an approved method.

Illness Policy Overview

To help maintain a healthy environment, children who are sick may need to stay home until they are well enough to safely participate in the program.

Children should not attend if they have symptoms that may be contagious or prevent them from participating comfortably in daily activities.

These may include:

  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Severe cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Unexplained rash
  • Eye discharge
  • Untreated contagious conditions
  • Any illness that requires more care than staff can safely provide

If a child becomes ill during the day, parents or guardians will be contacted and may be asked to pick up the child promptly.

Parents must inform the program of any allergies, medical conditions, medications, dietary restrictions, or special health needs.

Payment Policy Overview

Tuition and fees help support safe staffing, learning materials, meals, supplies, and daily program operations.

Parents and guardians are responsible for making payments according to their enrollment agreement. Payment due dates, accepted payment methods, late fees, registration fees, and withdrawal notice requirements will be explained during enrollment.

Families are encouraged to communicate with administration as early as possible if there are questions or concerns regarding payment.

Communication Policy Overview

Genesis Steps to Success believes strong communication between families and staff helps children succeed.

The program may communicate with families through:

  • Phone calls
  • Text messages
  • Email
  • Parent portal
  • Written notices
  • In-person conversations
  • Program announcements

Parents and guardians are responsible for keeping phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts, pickup lists, and child information up to date.

All communication between families, staff, and administration should remain respectful, professional, and child-focused.
